With a Record of Decision (ROD), the lead federal agency identifies the environmentally preferred alternative(s) and selects an alternative. If the selected alternative is not an environmentally preferred alternative, the ROD clearly states the reasons the environmentally preferred alternative was not selected. The Record of Decision (ROD) also will document the basis for the decision, alternatives considered, and the measures to minimize harm. When the ROD is complete, it will be made available for public review and posted on this Web site.

Following completion of the ROD, the selected alternative is then eligible to progress into permitting and design. Should an alternative be selected that requires design and construction, ongoing community outreach is anticipated.
